Mission
Acedia Journal is, foremost, a writers’ organization. Founded in 2023, we seek to remedy modern literary acedia by providing a well-kept, international journal that advertises and archives the poetry of its contributors not for pecuniary reasons but for the survival of the genre. We will never mistreat or undervalue the human creativity entrusted to us, regardless of who provided it. Because of such moral direction, this journal will always consider the work of any person who submits—no age restrictions, criminal record demands, or any similar practices take place in the treatment of your work.
Our publication features imaginative and eloquently crafted poetry that surprises us. We look for pieces whose music and lyrics stand out in equal capacity, and particularly value work which makes us think. Acedia is an in-print and online journal that acknowledges the exigency for digital storage as well as the wonderful feeling of paper on thumb. We pride ourselves on quick response time and production speed, understanding that the professional literary world is a difficult and hurried one.
Standing on the side of those not traditionally heard, we want to be wind in the voices of members of marginalized groups. We hope that you will see parts of yourselves in the poetry we publish, and that there is nothing stopping you from submitting your own work to us; we will handle it with care.
